WITH US FOREVER

Gone . . . but NEVER Forgotten

Frank Randy Perez

Papa's pixFrank Randy Perez was born into life on February 19, 1941; baptized into a new life in October 2002 and reborn once again into eternal life on September 14, 2015 at the age of 74. He was born in Los Angeles, California to an American girl of Irish descent and her Filipino husband who had only immigrated to America 12 years earlier at the age of 16.

As a child Randy lived in California, Mexico, Texas and back to California again. He joined the Navy in 1959 and traveled some more. He left the military in 1963 after serving four years. He was hired at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company within a week of his release from military service. He continued working at the telephone company for over 33 years, working hard and climbing the corporate ladder.

Randy was also active in community service with the Simi Valley Jaycees and was an usher at St. Peter Claver Church; and later ushered at Cornerstone Community Church. While working at the telephone company and volunteering his time in the community, he also pursued a higher education. He earned his associate's degree in 1973 and his bachelor's degree in 1991 [the same year he turned 50].

Although Randy was raised Catholic and attended Catholic services off and on throughout his life; in October 2001, at the age of 61, he came to know Jesus Christ and was baptized by his son, Chris, at his first-ever men's retreat organized by Cornerstone Community Church.

Randy passed away at his home holding his wife's hand and surrounded by loving family, on Monday September 14, 2015 at 1:10 pm, after a relatively short but fierce battle with bladder cancer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Ridler; his father, Frank Ramos Perez; and his sister, Susan Carol Buddles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Janice Ann Perez; and their crazy, wonderful, mixed-up, blended family: Christopher Stephen and his wife Julie Lynn Perez; Cynthia Ione Perez Doss; Danielle Brenneisen Oberosler; Peter Frederick and his wife, Jennifer Michelle Oberosler. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren whom he loved and adored: Austin Christopher Perez (18), Alexander Frank Perez (14), Hailey Marie Doss (21), Travis Jacob Doss (19), Matthew Gregory Gunn (26), Jared Wayne Oberosler (20), Jurney Nicole Oberosler (17), Morgen Sky Vandelinder (10), and countless "pseudo" grandchildren of his many family friends.

He is also survived by his beautiful and kind step-mother Leatrice Bantillo Perez; and his handsome brothers: James Frederick (Paris) Perez, Gary Bantillo Perez, Ronald Bantillo Perez, Dean Macario Perez and their families.
